This stage was the scene of Ott Tanaks massive accident in 2020.
Ott had just made a surprise move to Hyundai from Toyota, with whom he had just become World Champion.
The 2020 Monte Carlo was the first rally of the season and Tanaks first time driving the Hyundai in anger. This was the forth stage of the rally with Ott and co-driver Martin Jarveoja travelling at over 100mph when the car become unsettled and pitched of the road into a huge series of rolls. Both crew were unharmed, testimony to the incredible saftey features in the modern machinery.
