Fans spectating Rally New Zealand saw Kalle Rovanpera wrap up his record breaking 2022 World Championship title campaign, by lifting the trophy after completing the Jacks Ridge power stage. Kalle became the youngest ever WRC Champion at the age of 22 years and 1 day.
Spectators at the 2007 Rally New Zealand witnessed the closest-ever finish in the history of the World Rally Championship. After over 350 competitive kilometres, only 0.3 seconds separated the winner Marcus Grönholm and second-placed Sébastien Loeb.
